How to Prep for a Gut Reset Without Going Crazy June 27, 2025

Before you ditch dairy, cry over gluten, or panic about what to eat take a breath. Prepping for a gut reset doesn’t have to feel like starting a weird food cult.

Gut Healing Isn’t About Perfection. It’s About Strategy

If you’re about to start a gut reset (like we’re doing together in July 👀), there’s one big mistake people make:
They go all in with no prep, no pantry plan, and no idea what’s coming.

Spoiler alert: that usually ends in hanger, overwhelm, and a post-reset binge.

Let’s not do that. Let’s prep like pros.

Step 1: Toss the Junk (Yes, Even Your “Healthy” Snacks)

Before your reset officially starts, open those cabinets and get real.

Say goodbye to:

  • Industrial seed oils (canola, soybean, vegetable, etc.)
  • “Gluten-free” snacks loaded with gums and starch
  • Anything with MSG, maltodextrin, or “natural flavors” (they’re not natural, babe)
  • Hidden sugar bombs like granola, flavored yogurt, and protein bars

This isn’t punishment it’s making room for healing.

Step 2: Restock Your Kitchen With Gut-Healing Staples

Focus on real food. Clean proteins. Easy swaps. Nothing fancy, just foundation-building stuff.

Here’s your grocery starter list:

  • Proteins: Eggs, grass-fed beef, organic chicken, wild fish
  • Fats: Olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, tallow
  • Carbs: Sweet potatoes, squash, berries (if tolerated)
  • Support tools: Bone broth, collagen, herbal teas
  • Emergency snacks: Hard-boiled eggs, meat sticks, clean jerky, olives

Not sure if you’re doing carnivore, keto, or paleo yet? No worries we’ll get there. Right now, just clean it up.

Step 3: Support Drainage Ahead of Time (This Is Big)

If you’re not pooping, sweating, or peeing enough… your reset will backfire.

Before we start gut-healing, make sure:

  • You’re using magnesium daily
  • You’re hydrated (and yes, you need minerals)
  • You’re sweating (move, sauna, whatever works)
  • You’ve tried a castor oil pack or BEAM Minerals
  • You’re familiar with binders (we just covered this yesterday!)

Drainage first. Always.

Step 4: Set the Mood (and the Mindset)

You’re not starting a diet. You’re not giving up joy.
You’re giving your gut a clean slate and that means:

  • No “last supper” binge
  • No fear-based mindset
  • No guilt when it’s hard (because it will be)

💡 Print a gut reset checklist.
💡 Schedule your meals for week 1.
💡 Batch cook a few basics so you’re not scrambling.
💡 Tell your family what you’re doing so they can support you or at least not sabotage you.

Step 5: Know Your Why

Why are you doing this? To heal bloating? Clear brain fog? Regulate your hormones?
Write it down. Stick it on your fridge. Remind yourself daily.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being powerful.
And gut healing? That’s one of the most powerful moves you can make.

In Case You Skimmed…

  • Clean out the junk first
  • Stock your fridge with gut-healing basics
  • Support drainage before you begin
  • Prep your mindset, not just your meals
  • You’re not crazy, just committed. And that matters.

Because more pills ≠ more progress. Let’s get smart about support.

When the system doesn’t give us answers, we find them ourselves and we share them with people who are ready.
